Trip to Sydney: City to Surf

We drove to Sydney this weekend for the City to Surf. But first we went to Petes House Warming!  We grabbed some pide from Paramatta road, I loved seeing the families in the shop and how they were interacting with each other over some hommus and bread.

We had a quiet Saturday, visiting my school friend Megan and her two boys:

Malik was doing some impressive dives out in the back yard with a football.   Jan fed Zak, keeping him entertained.  I was impressed with Megans small garden, much bigger than mine really in the inner city.

Megan's Magnificent Magnolias.

We stayed with Jan's cousins, Tessa & Geoff, who are new to Sydney and starting to thrive there.   They joined us Saturday night for Artarmen Ramen (Genki)  Chilli chicken.

Sunday we were up early to go in the City to Surf.  We decided to walk this 14km event and got to the end in about 3 hours.  So many people were out in costumes, 80,000 participants in total.

There were Hari Krisnas chanting in the tunnel at Kings Cross.  A band playing up on a balcony in Double Bay.  A team of smurfs.  A team of old fashioned pilots drinking beers from their backpack coolers.  There were of people supporting hundreds of charities around us.

We met Jan's brother Nick and Ruby for lunch in Bondi and got to catch up.  We walked up the hill to Bondi Junction for the afternoon with very pregnant Jannie and Jack.

Sunday night we met with Shane and family for dinner then got to rest our poor sore legs.

Monday we visited my grandmother and Jan's grandfather up at the central coast then a 8 hour drive home to Albury.
