Media Workshop and Hazelwood Protest

Published in

Friday night, Jan took me out for a very special dinner at Source Dining, here in Albury.  It was fantastic.   Each dish was a piece of art, and although they looked tiny there was enough on each plate to share half of each course with each other.  Quite romantic!

On Saturday I did a Media training course which was fantastic. We were taught how to get the attention of the person we want to publish a story. Also how to figure out what the most interesting part of the story really is.

At lunch time we had the Replace Hazelwood protest.  We're all hoping that the dirtiest powerstation in Australia, Hazelwood can be replaced by renewable energy in the near future.  The organisers created a huge cake in the shape of the powerstation and poured some dry ice in to be the smoke.  Some kids sang a great song 'It's a long way to the top... if you keep on using coal'.  We keep seeing familiar faces at these events and we're starting to make some friends.

Jan spent his Saturday in the garage and made himself a 2.4 m long electronics bench for his office.  I was very impressed to have my husband out in the garage using his tools to build something with wood.

Today I rearranged the garage to make more space for Jan's workshop.  Allocating half a wall to my gardening supplies.   Jan also bought me a trestle table for out on the patio for me to use as my potting bench.
